Brightwing is Hiring a Quality Engineer Near Troy, MI

Job OverviewWe are seeking a versatile and experienced Manufacturing Quality Engineer with a focus on new product Launch to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our new vehicle launch, utilizing your expertise in quality control, manufacturing tool design, and process optimization across General Assembly, Body in White, and Battery Assembly lines.
Responsibilities
  • Prioritize safety above all to protect our team members, partners, and customers.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality control processes tailored for the new vehicle launch in General Assembly, Body in White, and Battery Assembly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in each department to establish and communicate quality requirements specific to the new vehicle, ensuring seamless integration into manufacturing processes.
  • Utilize your experience in designing manufacturing tools and processes to enhance efficiency and precision during the launch phase.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues, with a focus on meeting the highest standards for the new vehicle.
  • Perform regular audits and inspections of manufacturing processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications for the new car launch.
  • Work closely with suppliers to establish and monitor quality expectations for incoming materials and components related to the new vehicle.
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation, including control plans, inspection procedures, and quality manuals, customized for the specific requirements of the new car launch.
  • Leverage your skills in designing manufacturing tools to support the integration of innovative processes for the new vehicle.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to implement Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and other quality improvement methodologies across all manufacturing lines, with a focus on the unique challenges of launching a new car.
Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment, with expertise in launching new car models.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control processes, statistical analysis, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience in designing manufacturing tools and processes, particularly for new car launches.
  • Familiarity with industry quality standards and regulations applicable to automotive manufacturing.
  • Experience with quality improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey quality requirements and standards to cross-functional teams in different manufacturing departments.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on launching new car models.
