Responsibilities
- Prioritize safety above all to protect our team members, partners, and customers.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality control processes tailored for the new vehicle launch in General Assembly, Body in White, and Battery Assembly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in each department to establish and communicate quality requirements specific to the new vehicle, ensuring seamless integration into manufacturing processes.
- Utilize your experience in designing manufacturing tools and processes to enhance efficiency and precision during the launch phase.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues, with a focus on meeting the highest standards for the new vehicle.
- Perform regular audits and inspections of manufacturing processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications for the new car launch.
- Work closely with suppliers to establish and monitor quality expectations for incoming materials and components related to the new vehicle.
- Develop and maintain quality documentation, including control plans, inspection procedures, and quality manuals, customized for the specific requirements of the new car launch.
- Leverage your skills in designing manufacturing tools to support the integration of innovative processes for the new vehicle.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to implement Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and other quality improvement methodologies across all manufacturing lines, with a focus on the unique challenges of launching a new car.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment, with expertise in launching new car models.
- Strong knowledge of quality control processes, statistical analysis, and root cause analysis.
- Experience in designing manufacturing tools and processes, particularly for new car launches.
- Familiarity with industry quality standards and regulations applicable to automotive manufacturing.
- Experience with quality improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey quality requirements and standards to cross-functional teams in different manufacturing departments.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on launching new car models.
