A telecommunication client of ours in the west suburbs of Chicago (near Downers Grove) is seeking a contract Senior Accountant to join their team (5 days in office).

QuickBooks Online experience required and prior Telecommunication industry experience preferred

Role will be responsible for timely and accurate preparation of financial accounting data in a variety of areas.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analysis for management reporting
• Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
• Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
• Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
• Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
• Maintain journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
• Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision
• Participate in various department-wide initiatives
• Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
• Support audit process

Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in accounting or finance
• Minimum 5 years of senior experience
• QuickBooks Online experience required
• Prior experience supporting an Audit required
• CPA preferred
• Experience with Salesforce a plus
• Ideal Industry Experience: Telecommunication
• Ability to create processes and offer suggestions on ways to improve processes
• Highly skilled in the use of Excel Spreadsheets
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal
