See Job PURPOSE OF JOB: The Pediatric Care and Immunizations Clinical Assistant works closely with the Pediatric Care and Immunizations Coordinator and the Infection Control Manager. The Pediatric Care and Immunizations Clinical Assistant reviews all immunizations dues lists within the BBAHC service unit and contacts the parents or guardians of children ages 0-18 years old to arrange for clinic appointments for well child checks and immunizations. This clinical assistant also reviews the MD travel schedule to schedule pediatric patients into the MD village visit schedules. The clinical assistant coordinates with Health Aides to ensure that the appropriate type and number of immunizations are ordered. The pharmacy is also contacted to ensure that the immunizations are packaged and available for the MD to pick up on the way to the airport. This clinical assistant also compiles data regarding immunizations rates. Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Must demonstrate good organizational skills as well as proficient grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Ability to deal with all members of the public in a professional, courteous, and tactful manner.
BLS certification required.
Must be fluent in English, Yupik preferred.
Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
Must demonstrate the ability to follow directly and comply with policy and procedures. This individual must demonstrate basic knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span (e.g. pediatric/adult/geriatric). Possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the assigned unit’s policies and procedures.
Must be able to maintain a professional standard of ethics at all times and observe confidentiality regulations established by BBAHC.
