Full Time (40 hours per week) Monday-Friday

The Specialty Pharmacy Liaison is a key contributor to our team, dedicated to providing superior care to patients through customized medication management services. This role demands exceptional communication abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong commitment to delivering unparalleled service. The Specialty Pharmacy Liaison will be accountable for increasing overall Retail Pharmacy utilization by developing new referral activity and strengthening existing relationships through the promotion of Bristol Health Pharmacy services. As a pharmacy liaison, you facilitate communication between the prescriber, pharmacy, and patient, and help people obtain and properly use prescribed medication. You provide education and customer service to encourage patients to utilize the in-house pharmacy services provided by a hospital or clinic, and support patients in adhering to their medication regimens. You also assist with strategic planning and business development initiatives to ensure effective communication between patients and healthcare teams. In this role, your responsibilities are focused on identifying and addressing gaps in care, but you also have administrative duties that involve data management, reporting, and pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional care to patients, offering a comprehensive range of customized medication management services.

  • Implement effective strategies to grow the patient base of the specialty pharmacy.

  • Work in collaboration with hospital clinicians to provide top-notch patient care, both in-person and over the phone.

  • Educate potential pharmacy patients and providers about our services and how they enhance patient care.

  • Efficiently and accurately manage all patient medication requirements.

  • Conduct regular check-ups to ensure patients adhere to their medication regimens, manage prescription refills, etc.

  • Innovate and contribute to the development of processes that boost operational efficiency and patient care.

  • Accurately interpret and process prescriptions.

  • Clarify prescription orders with pharmacists and/or clinicians as needed.

  • Execute pharmaceutical calculations with precision.

  • Identify and manage medications that require special storage or handling.

  • Address and triage inbound patient inquiries.

  • Conduct outbound medication adherence check-ups and manage prescription refills.

  • Resolve insurance-related challenges, including prior authorizations and financial assistance for patients.

  • Communicate directly with patients to enhance their understanding of their medications.

  • Contribute to operational objectives by managing data, adjudicating test claims, and preparing follow-up action plans.

  • Organize and update relevant data using database applications.

  • Apply insights and recommendations to resolve operational issues and improve productivity, quality, and customer service.

  • Identify trends, solve problems, recommend improvements, and implement changes.

  • Actively engage in process improvement initiatives.

  • Serve as a valuable business partner to stakeholders across the organization.

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Stay abreast of industry developments through continuous learning, professional networking, and involvement in professional organizations.

Qualifications


Educational/Minimum requirements:

  • Associate’s Degree

  • Licensed Practical Nurse, Pharmacy Technician or comparable role preferred 

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in the healthcare industry

  • Customer service, Sales/ Marketing experience preferred

Cognitive Requirements:

  • Good communication skills, written and oral.
