Overview

A kind family of four in the Flatiron/Union Square neighborhood of Manhattan is looking for a loving and cheerful nanny to join their family and help take care of a 4-year-old-boy. There is also a 10-year-old girl in the family, but she is at school full-time and has an after-school babysitter. The schedule will be a guaranteed minimum of 45-50 hours per week to be determined between the family and the candidate to hire. At least three days per week will be a 7am start. The start date will be between early August-September 4th. 

Responsibilities

• Full child-care of preschool-aged child
• Team-player to communicate with involved parents and after-school babysitter 
• Healthy cooking for children's meals
• Child laundry
• Light housekeeping (dishes, making beds, tidying up) while the children are at school (the younger child is in school 4 days until 2pm and 1 day until 12:45pm)

Qualifications

• Creative, active, and helpful disposition 
• Excited to explore and get out and about with a pre-school aged child (playgrounds, playdates, etc.)

Ideal but not required: 

• Bilingual English/Spanish 
• Driver’s license and clean driving record 
• Able to swim 
• Able to do weekday overnights for additional fee during July and August at a summer residence (separate bedroom and bathroom)

Requirements

• Professional nannying experience with preschool-age children
• Familiarity with gentle parenting methods (Montessori, RIE, Waldorf, positive discipline)
• Non- smoker
• Looking to make a long-term commitment 
• Legal to work in US

Salary and Benefits

$35-40 per hour plus benefits
