As a Marine Electrician, the primary responsibilities will revolve around the installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment and systems on marine vessels. Key tasks include ensuring the proper functionality of a variety of electrical components such as wiring, generators, navigation systems, lighting, communication systems, and control panels. Your meticulous attention to detail and strict adherence to safety protocols will be crucial as you troubleshoot issues and conduct routine inspections to maintain the reliability and efficiency of electrical systems while at sea.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduation from technical school or equivalent experience relevant to vessel electrical systems/equipment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of AC and DC electrical theory and the techniques and practices of installation, maintenance, repair and alteration of marine electrical and electro-mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with marine regulations (ABYC, USCG, etc.).
• Basic mathematical skills required in manufacturing environment.
• ABYC Marine Electrical Certification preferred. Additional certifications (e.g. Garmin, NMEA, etc.) will be considered an asset.
• Must be 18 years of age and eligible to work in the US.
Environment:
Work is performed in a metal manufacturing facility. Noise level can vary from moderate to high. The use of PPE (e.g. hand/hearing/eye protection) is required.
Continuous physical effort is required (standing, walking, stooping, climbing stairs, grasping/reaching above head height, lifting/moving items up to 50 pounds). The employee is occasionally required to work from a ladder and/or scaffolding.
Compensation and Benefits:
Level I pay range: $18-20/hour; Level II pay range: $20-26/hour; Level III pay range: $26-32/hour
Base pay rate DOE. Benefits include:
