Description & Requirements
The is looking for an exceptional candidate for the Laboratory Assistant I position in the Procurement Department.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the preparation and data entry of solutions, reagents and labeled plates.
- Perform quality control testing on prepared batches of solutions, reagents and labeled plates
- Perform calibration of quality control instrumentation
- Prepare aliquots of solutions and reagents as necessary.
- Responsible for the washing and sterilization of glassware on a regular basis.
- Preforms inventory counts as needed.
- Responsible for the receipt and distribution of complex kits.
- Rotates chemical stock to ensure consumption of materials before expiration.
- Must be willing to train in our Cambridge, MA location prior moving operations to Burlington, MA.
- Will need to assist in moving lab operations to new location.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma with a minimum of 1 year lab experience. Associates Degree or Bachelor of Science preferred.
- Experience in SAP, JIRA and Microsoft Office preferred.
- Glass wash and solution prep experience preferred.
- Must be able to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
- Must be receptive to instruction and able to follow written protocols.
- Good communication skills and an ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Willing to perform a variety of physically intensive tasks.
- Able to lift a minimum of 30lbs.
