Broadbent & Associates, Inc is Hiring an Archaeological Field Technician Near Fort Collins, CO

Archaeological Field Technicians Needed

Broadbent & Associates, Inc. is seeking curriculum vitae from qualified candidates for up to two seasonal positions for archaeological field technicians based out of our Castle Pines or Fort Collins offices in Colorado. Broadbent is an engineering and environmental consulting company founded in 1987 and provides Cultural Resource Management services to a range of clients in Nevada, Utah, California, and Colorado. The cultural resources division has multiple archaeological survey projects scheduled between now and the end of 2024 and is in need of professionally-minded archaeologists with immediate availability to work on selected projects.

The onboarding process includes an in-person orientation, a physical, and drug test. All time to complete these tasks will be paid.

Minimum Requirements for Field Technician:

  • A./B.S. in Archaeology or Anthropology or a closely related field and/or one or more years of experience in archaeological survey and excavation.
  • Willingness to work in remote locations.
  • Willingness to work 10-day sessions in the field.
  • Ability to perform fieldwork activities independently and with a team.
  • Ability to take clear field notes.
  • Ability to walk up to 12 miles per day in rugged terrain during a 10-hour workday.
  • Ability to carry up to 30 lbs. of equipment over distances.

Compensation:

  • Compensation is between $22 and $30/hour, commensurate with education, experience in the region, and amount of time working as a professional archaeologist.
  • Broadbent offers per diem according to GSA rates for the project location.
  • Per diem is paid electronically every two weeks on the same schedule as paychecks.
  • Single occupancy lodging accommodations will be arranged, booked, and paid for by Broadbent.
  • Time and a half rates are paid for hours exceeding 40 in a single work week.
  • All project-related travel time is paid, including mobilization from the local Colorado office to the job site and/or motel and back, and daily to/from the motel to the job site.
