Broadridge is hiring! We are seeking a Director of Software Engineering to join our team! We are looking for someone to join a core team with expertise in application development, DevOps, cloud engineering, and more. You will ensure the successful execution of our business mission through development and deployment of new and exciting features. The development of our product application portfolio is critical to our communications platform within Broadridge; backed by significant investment and is highly visible across the organization. You'll be leading a proficient Software Engineering team with proven track record that are passionate about developing and delivering high quality software in a collaborative environment. You will also be mentoring other like-minded team members that rely on your experience and technical background to deliver solutions quickly and optimally.
This position is considered a hybrid, which means you’ll be assigned to a Broadridge office and be required to be in an office 2 days per week.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead an agile team that develops and supports high volume 24x7 processing/digital communication and print factory systems.
  • Direct, lead and deliver projects through the application of comprehensive software development life cycle processes.
  • Balances areas’ supply and demand by supervising System Improvement Requests (SERs), Problem Reports, resource allocations and ongoing progress towards stated goals.
  • You’ll implement new features that embrace scalable, secure, resilient architectural principles.
  • Drive adoption of Dev Ops and CI/CD concepts, tools and processes within the team.
  • Eliminate End of Life and drive modernization within the application portfolio with a focus towards AWS cloud enablement.
  • Contribute to technical design discussions that will result in technical improvements.
  • Review business and functional requirements provided by the Product team and translate them into well architected technical solutions.
  • Provide leadership to developers in terms of technology decisions and best coding/design practices.
  • Rearchitect legacy systems where needed to provide high performance, scalability, and resiliency.
  • Ensure that the development team delivers well tested, high-quality code.
  • Ensure all code conforms to software security practices and is free of security vulnerabilities.
  • Partner with QA to build test cases and explain impacted test areas.
  • Rapidly address issues and fix defects in production as needed.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to drive change, mentor, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance in a demanding, fast paced environment.
  • Ability to coach and mentor resources and optimally handle and shape team and individual behaviors.
Qualifications:
  • 15 years within a programming and application system environment
  • 10 years' of relevant IT experience within financial/investment institutions and leadership experience in a software development organization required
  • Extensive experience in AWS services (e.g. Lambda, Glue, DynamoDB, Aurora, Redshift, SQS, Cognito, CloudFront, Gateway API) and AWS architecture best practices
  • Experience with one or more languages, i.e., Java, Python, Node.js, Java Script,
  • Oracle DB, C and Java applications for data processing, Java client and Java web applications (Linux, JBoss), Sonic message bus.
  • Hands-on experience with designing APIs using RESTful API Modeling Language (RAML) specifications.
  • Experience with DevOps CI/CD pipeline for code deployment by engaging different tools (Git, Jenkins, Code Pipeline) in the process right from developer code check-in to Production deployment.
  • Dynamic leadership and agent of change capable of influencing the direction of the organization while maintaining a culture where associates are recognized as important assets to the company.
  • Demonstrate a repertoire of skills such as scheduling, prioritizing, organizing, planning, problem solving, decision-making, financial savvy, attention to detail, and follow through.
  • Maintain a big picture, strategic outlook with the ability to iterate from company strategy to product development and planning.
  • Solid grasp of the Agile software development cycle and development methodology.
  • Ability and willingness to be hands on in software development and technical issues
  • Self-motivated, standout colleague, action-and-results oriented
  • Exceptional project management, planning and organizational skills.
  • Well organized, extraordinary communication and presentation skills- effective communicator/presenter to groups of all sizes and levels of management.
  • Outstanding leadership capability.
  • Ability to successfully work under tight project timelines.
  • Detailed knowledge of the brokerage industry
  • Financial services experience is preferred.
  • B.S. in Computer Science / related field required
Compensation Range: The salary range for this position is between 120,000 - $140,000.
