Job Description:
Broadstep Behavioral Health is actively hiring for a Medical Coordinator. The Medical Coordinator is a highly organized professional who is responsible for all client medical appointments, and documentation, as well as providing support to the clinical team. The Medical Coordinator must be able to work independently and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.

Broadstep’s Illinois programs provide comprehensive behavioral health services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness, and other diagnoses that may impact their behaviors. Hours and Location: This is a M-5, 8-5pm role with flexibility for special projects. Candidates should be located in the Freeport, IL area.
Job Duties:
  • Responsible for scheduling and coordinating all client medical appointments for Illinois Residential and Day Program clients.
  • Obtain all documentation from client medical visits and ensure it is added to their electronic health record.
  • Maintain and update patients’ electronic health records (EHR), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality in accordance with healthcare regulations.
  • Responsible for enrollment of clients in Medicaid
  • Maintain competency-based training assessments for the Illinois clinical team.
  • Track client One to One Billing
  • Manage inventory.
  • Assist the state leader as needed.
  • Manage the Freeport office including mail, invoices, etc.
  • Responsible for tasks as assigned.
  • This role reports the Clinical Service Manager
Education and Licensure Requirements:
  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in business or related field is preferred.
Other Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a medical office/hospital other facility preferred
  • Knowledge of Medicaid/Medicare
  • Positive can-do attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
