Broadstep Behavioral Health is actively hiring for a Registered Nurse in the Greater Aurora, IL area. This role oversees an individual’s health through observing and assessing their records, symptoms, and reactions to treatment and care. The RN performs as a liaison with individual's families as well, guiding and instructing them in aftercare measures. Go to https://www.broadstep.com/ to learn more about the company. Schedule & Location:Day Shift with local travel.This role services the following cities: Aurora, Naperville, Plainfield, Cortland, Sugar Grove Job Type: This is a fully onsite role that is not eligible for remote work. Job Duties: Provide holistic nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Observe, assess, and evaluate the health needs of the individuals we support. Coordinate preventative and routine medical care for individuals supported. Document nursing care provided. Provide clinical supervision or oversight for licensed practical nurses and/or med techs as deemed necessary. Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Provide health related training to unlicensed personnel. Teach medication administration training to unlicensed personnel when state law allows. Conduct medication pass observations in the home to ensure staff competency. Teach the people we serve to monitor their health. Perform quality assurance checks and observations to ensure unlicensed personnel are performing health related tasks as assigned. Conduct routine nursing assessments. Observe and report any abnormal health related findings to the physician. Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, medical suppliers, and the Interdisciplinary Team Advocate for the people supported and assist with developing community support to promote optimal health for the people supported. implement all protocols for crisis intervention programs as identified in the individual’s treatment plan. Performs other related duties as assigned Required Education/Licenses/Credentials: Degree from an accredited registered nurse program, BSN preferred, but not required. Current registered nurse license with no restrictions to practice nursing. Must be able to communicate effectively with Interdisciplinary Team Members, as well as the people supported and their families. Must be able to work independently. Must be organized and possess the ability to prioritize work tasks. Current CPR Certification or eligibility to obtain certification.
