Purpose of the Position;

The Specialty Asset Portfolio Manager - Minerals willwork in close coordination with the Senior Asset Portfolio Manager to managethe portfolio of minerals held in fiduciary accounts in Wealth Management.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensuring efficient and prudent management of the portfolio of mineral assets by the following:
    • Document analysis and confirmation of mineral asset ownership.
    • Negotiation of agreements that provide for the development and exploitation of minerals.
    • Monitors compliance with mineral lease provisions to maximize income for clients.
    • Analysis/verification of Division of Interest (working and royalty)
    • Audit of Working/Royalty Interest payments of oil, gas and product sales, including market value and volumes.
    • Identify and cure title defects.
    • Verification of accuracy of conveyance documents.
    • Assemble data and interface with ad valorem tax vendor.
    • Assist as necessary in the timely recording of revenue receipts.
    • Analysis of revenue and expenses for working interests to determine suitability of investment.
  • Responsible for growth of portfolio of mineral assets by assisting the Senior Specialty Asset Portfolio Manager - Minerals to:
    • Execute strategies to identify and target newprofitable mineral management opportunities.
    • Work with internal partners to ensure a coordinated and consistent marketing message reaches targeted prospects.
    • Cultivate relationships with referral sources such as attorney and CPAs.
    • Maintain sales pipelines using CRM to document qualification/progress of opportunities.
    • Educate internal partners on mineral management capabilities to drive referrals.
  • Building client loyalty and driving profitable growth by applying client relationship management principals including:
    • Together or in close coordination with the Senior Specialty Asset Portfolio Manager - Minerals and account Advisor, meeting regularly with clients to review mineral asset development, income, and lease compliance.
    • Preparing meaningful reports for client use and education on mineral assets and their revenue or potential revenue.
    • Demonstrating strong communication skills and effectively establishing rapport and credibility with clients.
  • Current knowledge of local and regional developments and major economic issues in connection with oil and gas/mineral industry.
  • Maintain knowledge of the Property and Estates Codes as applicable.
  • Support the Specialty Services team and Wealth Management LOB by:
    • Preparing various management reports and client presentations
    • Analyzing current technology opportunities and providing recommendations to management concerning their implementation.
    • Mentorship of other junior mineral department employees in the development of mineral management and related technology skills.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as directed.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • 2 years in-house and field experience as a practicingLand Professional which includes management of mineral/working interest, oiland gas lease negotiation, performance of title research, curing title defects,and working knowledge of Trust and Probate Documents or applicable advanced degree.
  • 5 Years Mineral experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Education Requirements:

  • 4-year College Degree
  • Registered Professional Landman or CertifiedProfessional Landman professional designation preferred.
  • Personal computerproficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and land management software.
  • Microsoft Office Suite,MineralSoft, DrillingInfo and Fi-Tek TrustPortal preferred.
