Position Overview:
The Director of IT for Corporate Applications is a key position within the technology team, reporting to the executive responsible for application delivery, data analytics, and operational management of supporting technologies. This role oversees a large team, including several direct reports and responsibilities for technical and business analyst functions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, or a STEM-related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years of progressive IT department leadership experience at a mid-senior level.
  • High-level technical understanding of data applications, technologies, platforms, and data solution architecture.
  • Experience with enterprise-level corporate and analytics applications/systems in a healthcare environment preferred.
  • Certification in relevant areas such as Epic applications, ITIL, business process management, project management (PMP or similar) preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of health information technology laws and regulations.
  • Interact with all levels of management and important outsiders. Requires tact and communication skills to negotiate and influence others

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, integrate, design, implement, maintain, and support the corporate information systems portfolio for Bronson’s operations.
  • Lead Tier 1 critical applications such as HR systems (WorkDay), finance systems, facilities management, back office operations (M365), and similar services.
  • Develop strategy and oversee day-to-day operations of the enterprise data warehouse, clinical and business intelligence operations, and enterprise analytics initiatives.
  • Manage the portfolio of corporate digital applications and services for Bronson’s workforce and community partners.
  • Contribute to strategic plans and innovation ideas for exploring new technologies in corporate operations.
  • Serve as the principal point of representation and liaison with third-party vendors and external affiliates on operational matters.
  • Coordinate resources for planning, analysis, building, testing, training, policy/procedures, development, and issue resolution.
  • Improve standards and accountability for application testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities.
  • Manage change control processes to enhance functions, security standards, user experience, and service level requirements.
  • Analyze functionality and constraints of recommended solutions across systems/platforms/applications.
  • Lead multiple simultaneous assignments to satisfactory conclusions with superior project management skills.
  • Work with corporate and shared service providers to define metrics and KPIs for service delivery quality and performance.
  • Ensure compatibility, interoperability, stability, and usability of solution architecture.
  • Promote the interfacing and control of the organization's current technology and dissemination of technological information.
  • Support the maintenance and operation of network information systems, data center operations, interfaces, security administration, disaster recovery, customer services, and IT planning.
  • Oversee fiscal, operational, and human resources management for the areas of responsibility.
  • Maintain knowledge of federal and state laws related to health information technology, privacy, insurance regulations, audit, billing, and security.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and secure approval of coordinated budgets and guide subordinate managers in budget development.
  • Approve policies and ensure procedures are in place to implement approved policies.
  • Hire, evaluate, develop, and discipline managerial personnel as needed.
  • Establish management control procedures to monitor work volume, efficiency, and service quality.
  • Collaborate with medical and clinical staff to develop organizational goals and plans.
  • Provide leadership in IT policy development and compliance.
  • Ensure safe practices and fair treatment of patients, families, visitors, and customers.
  • Make timely decisions related to compliance, accreditation, auditing, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct audits and investigate regulatory compliance.
  • Establish long-range goals and strategies for application ecosystem design and performance.
  • Stay updated on IT trends and regulatory changes.
  • Mentor IT team members and implement professional development plans.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
