BronxWorks is hiring one (1) Shift Supervisor for the Homeless Outreach Team

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Supervise outreach personnel during overnight shift. 
• Train staff in safety measures on a regular basis. 
• Meet with Outreach Team leadership on a regular basis to report any staff concerns or concerns about field operations. 
• Ensure compliance with incident reporting
• Conduct field outreach with outreach team. 
• Conduct regular field visits to engage and build rapport with chronically homeless individuals. 
• Document all interactions with or on behalf of clients in the system of record. 
• Maintain familiarity with social services and resources available both on-site and in the community.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED. 
• Bachelors degree preferred.
• Candidate must have a valid drivers license which has been held for at least 1 year; in the last 3 years, candidate must have obtained no more than 3 license violation points. 
• One-year of homeless outreach or related work experience preferred. 
• Ability to engage and build rapport with populations with high support needs. 
• Strong oral and written communication skills. 
• Strong presentation skills and ability to represent the agency at functions and meetings. 
• Excellent organizational, teambuilding and leadership skills. 
• Detail-oriented and resourceful with strong time management and organizational skills. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other standard business technology. 
• Bilingual/multilingual preferred, but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

• Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods. 
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. 
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time. 
• Ability to climb five flights of stairs. 
• Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents. 
• Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation. 
• Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather. e TB Test required within the first 120 days of employment.
