Brookfield Renewable U.S. is Hiring a Senior Director, Asset Management- Wind Operations Near Queensbury, NY
Brookfield Renewable U.S., a nationwide leader in sustainable energy who provides wind, solar, resilient backup power, and managed energy services to over 1,000 projects across the U.S., with a total electric capacity of more than 5,100 megawatts of nonregulated renewable energy, is seeking a Senior Director, Wind Operations for TerraForm Power, a portfolio company, to be based at one of their managed wind facilities. Senior Director, Wind Operations Reporting to the Vice President, Asset Management, Wind Operations, the Senior Director, Wind Operations will lead a team with responsibility for day-to-day asset management and operations of TerraForm Power’s US-based wind facilities. The role will be responsible, in collaboration with counterparts across the organization, for overseeing management of contracted and self-performing assets, overseeing operational aspects of compliance programs, driving efficiencies, and enhancing health, safety, security and environment (HSSE) programs. Responsibilities
Lead and provide direction to a team of operations and asset management professionals
Demonstrate a strong alignment with corporate values, including health, safety, security, and environment. Drive the management and enhancement of core HSSE programs.
Manage the day-to-day operations of self-performing operations team, and core oversight of contracted operations teams.
Manage the overall operational costs, including annual operational and sustaining capital expenditure planning and reporting
Manage key inputs from operations to financial reporting metrics
Manage operational aspects of compliance programs, including NERC and environmental compliance programs
Support the enhancement of ESG reporting and programs
Support operational integration of new commercial strategies
Coordinate with engineering on the development, design, procurement, and commissioning of performance improvement and sustaining capital projects
Propose improvements and evaluate new technologies to minimize operating costs, risk and potential losses and maximize potential generation
Support internal teams with proposal reviews, RFPs, contract awards, tendering, debriefing, quality assurance and implementation
Prepare, review, negotiate and finalize contract documents and supervise contract administration to ensure compliance with permits, policies and codes
Provide support to management on strategic projects and ad-hoc request for various operational related activities
Requirements

Travel expectation: approximately 30-40%
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, physics, other technical field, or equivalent technical experience;
10 years of relevant experience;
Asset Management and Project Management experience;
Broad knowledge of wind technologies;
Knowledge of non-wind power generation technologies an asset;
Experience with energy storage technologies and their implementation is an asset
