Senior Asset Manager
The Senior Asset Manager is responsible for managing operating wind, solar, and battery energy storage system assets: interfacing with internal and external Operations and Maintenance (O&M) teams and other services providers, internal teams, landowners, regulatory organizations, and local, state and federal agencies.
This position includes leading a team of asset and compliance managers to optimize the performance, profitability, and compliance of our operating assets. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, firm understanding of operational strategies, and compliance with all environmental, NERC, and other regulatory aspects of energy generation. The position reports to the Sr. Director, Asset Management.
Responsibilities
Operational Oversight:
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight to your team to ensure asset reliability and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to optimize asset reliability and performance.
  • Monitor asset performance, identifying issues, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Oversee and contribute to the preparation of comprehensive operating performance reports for stakeholders.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis for underperforming assets and development of improvement plans.
Financial Management:
  • Develop and manage asset budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Implement strategies to track and optimize operational expenditures (OPEX) and capital expenditures (CAPEX).
  • Ensure assets meet financial performance targets and guide your team in identifying opportunities to enhance profitability.
Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure all assets comply with local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards.
  • Manage and monitor tasks related to environmental permits, site certificates, NERC compliance, utility regulations, and market reporting.
  • Lead your team in maintaining strong relationships with regulatory bodies and ensure timely submission of required documentation.
Contract Management:
  • Oversee contractual agreements, including power purchase agreements (PPAs), O&M contracts, and vendor agreements.
  • Develop and empower your team to manage relationships with off-takers, utilities, and other stakeholders.
  • Negotiate contract terms and handle contract renewals and amendments.
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Establish yourself and your team as the primary point of contact for all asset-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with investors, lenders, and other financial partners.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with development and engineering teams on project expansions, upgrades, and their impact on asset management.
Risk Management:
  • Lead your team in identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational and financial risks associated with asset management.
  • Delegate and oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive risk management strategies and contingency plans.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in asset management for utility-scale solar, wind, and/or battery storage projects with a track record of success.
  • Strong knowledge of renewable energy technologies, grid operations, and energy markets.
  • Proven experience in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance in the renewable energy sector.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Pay Range: $130k-170k/yr.
Bonus: 20%
