Duties
- Preparation of detailed cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Utilize software to develop and manage project estimates effectively.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate pricing.
- Conduct thorough reviews of blueprints and specifications using Bluebeam to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Manage the estimating team, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable terms for the company.
- Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and pricing strategies.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating, with a strong understanding of construction management principles.
- Proficiency in HeavyBid and Bluebeam software is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract negotiations.
- Familiarity with cost control measures and best practices within the construction industry.
- Experience working on construction sites is a plus, providing practical insights into project execution.
