Senior Manufacturing Automation Engineer
Contract-to-hire (W2)
Hybrid, Battle Creek, MI (additional travel required)
$55-60/hour
An international leader in food and cereal manufacturing is overhauling its manufacturing processes and lines and is seeking a Senior PCIS Automation Engineer to lead the team responsible for implementing automation and modernizing the existing manufacturing program. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Provide deep PCIS expertise and leadership for manufacturing automation and similar modernization projects and initiatives.
- Lead the delivery and use of new PCIS technology and methods to improve results for business leads, rationalizing expenditures and fostering reapplication with multiple sites.
- Provide technical support and guidance for other team members, leadership training, and benchmarking.
- Research and recommend changes with leadership, work to integrate new PCIS technology into multiple sites.
Minimum requirements:
- 10 years of experience in controls and/or automation engineering roles, preferably in food, beverage, medical tech, pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
- Significant experience using Rockwell Automation technology in Smart Manufacturing or Industry 4.0 environments.
- Experience programming, debugging, and troubleshooting PLCs and/or HMIs in manufacturing environments.
- Experience leading engineering teams focusing on manufacturing process automation and modernization, offering mentorship, oversight, and guidance to other engineers.
