Job Title: Security Analyst

Client: Local Government Office

Duration: 6-month Contract-to-Hire

Pay: $30-35/hr

Location: Indianapolis, IN (Onsite)

Job Summary:

The Enterprise Security Architect will collaborate with various agencies within our client to design secure, enterprise-level, and department-level security solutions. This role involves setting strategic directions, developing security frameworks, and building standards in line with our client’s IT Governance Plan. This position requires significant independent judgment, often representing the Chief Information Security Officer at planning, management, and customer meetings.

This role involves setting strategic directions for information security and establishing enterprise architecture standards based on best practices. Key duties include evaluating and implementing new security technologies, collaborating with Enterprise Architects, providing governance throughout project lifecycles, and influencing secure network design decisions. The position also coordinates disaster recovery and business continuity plans, develops security standards, manages architecture governance, prepares audit reports and remediation plans, and reports on data security measures. Additional responsibilities include participating in security event investigations, creating comprehensive security solutions, monitoring regulatory changes, maintaining confidentiality, and performing other assigned tasks.

Minimum Job Requirements and Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Informatics, Computer Programming, Information Assurance and Compliance, or a related field.
• Experience: Experience designing or managing an Enterprise IT security and compliance program.
• Skills:
• Strong understanding of security tenets such as encryption/key management, network design, access control, and incident containment.
• Knowledge of NIST best practices, the SANS Institute’s ten security domains, PCI DSS, and state privacy laws.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical and creative thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Job Requirements and Qualifications:

• Experience:
• Experience as an administrator or engineer in a non-security IT role.
• Experience with hosted and cloud services, including SaaS and PaaS, and understanding related security implications and control approaches.
• Knowledge: Thorough understanding of risk management principles and processes.
• Certifications: Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISA, GSEC, CISM, etc.
• Skills: Experience in policy and standard creation and acceptance.

Working Conditions:

• Essential functions are performed in an office setting without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.

Physical Conditions:

• Sitting at a desk most of the day.
• Occasionally lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling light objects (5-10 pounds).
• Extended periods at a keyboard or workstation.
• Ability to perceive and hear sounds and see visual cues or signals.
• Ability to communicate orally.
