Senior Systems Engineer - Data Science Platform Administrator

Contract Duration: 6 month contract (possible FTE conversion)

Location: Chicago, IL

Hybrid: 3x per week

Our healthcare insurance client is seeking a seasoned Engineer to join their Data Science team. The primary responsibility of this role is to support the upgrade and steady-state maintenance of their Dataiku platform. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring governance, standardization, and security across the platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the upgrade and ongoing maintenance of the Dataiku platform within an enterprise-level Unix environment.
• Implement and enforce governance, standardization, and security protocols for the Dataiku platform.
• Manage projects through conversion engines, troubleshooting issues as they arise to ensure smooth operations.
• Collaborate with fellow engineers, acting as a thought leader and effectively communicating strategies and solutions.
• Utilize extensive experience with Red Hat Linux 6.5 or equivalent Unix systems to complete necessary tasks and assist with strategic initiatives.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive lists of assets, manage widget counts, and project timelines to ensure project milestones are met.

Required Background:

• A minimum of 10 years of experience with Unix Systems and Dataiku in an enterprise-level Unix Platform.
• In-depth knowledge of the Dataiku platform from an administrative perspective.
• Proven ability to manage projects through conversion engines and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Red Hat Linux 6.5 (or equivalent Linux experience) with a deep understanding of Unix systems.
• Demonstrated experience in developing strategies and executing tasks to support and maintain enterprise-level data science platforms.
