Requirements And PreferencesThe Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for Wellbeing Coordinator (Program/Project Coordinator classification) for the Employee Benefit Services Section of the Human Resources Division.
Employee Benefit Services is a section of Human Resources that specializes in the benefits offered to all Broward County employees including retirees. The County offers a range of employee benefits that include health insurance, spending accounts and optional plans.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic Human Resources team and help us continue to expand our WellBeing Program!
The WellBeing Coordinator is vital in supporting our organization's employee health and wellness initiatives. This dynamic position involves assisting in the planning, implementing, and evaluating wellbeing programs to enhance employees’ mental, physical, and emotional health. The successful candidate will work closely with the WellBeing Program Manager to collaborate with stakeholders, maintain communication channels, and contribute to a healthier workforce.
Key Responsibilities In This Role Include
  • Program Development and Execution:
  • Assist in designing, executing, and evaluating comprehensive wellness programs tailored to meet employees’ diverse needs.
  • Develop communication strategies to promote and encourage participation in wellbeing initiatives.
  • Coordinate and actively participate in wellness events, such as health fairs, workshops, and seminars.
  • Analyze employee data and feedback to refine and enhance wellbeing programs.
  • Benefit Education and Communication:
  • Assist in giving presentations to inform and educate employees about benefit plans and available wellbeing resources.
  • Understand and explain all benefit plans offered to employees, including FRS, Deferred Compensation, HSA, and other financial wellness products.
  • Relationship Building:
  • Develop strong relationships with Wellness Captains at various worksites throughout the County.
  • Contribute to building the captain program and maintain regular contact.
  • Lead the Captains Team Channel and update regularly at least twice a month.
  • Vendor Management:
  • Collaborate closely with vendors to ensure timely deliverables as directed by the supervisor.
  • Coordinate Annual Open Enrollment process logistics, including schedules, vendors, and website updates.
  • Data Management and Reporting:
  • 1 year of experience modifying content in SharePoint, Microsoft Suite, excel pivot tables
  • Create and maintain databases and spreadsheets for tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Research wellbeing trends related to Physical, Mental, Financial, Social & Community, and Cultural aspects.
Additional Duties as assigned.
Critical/Unique Skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Adobe Creative Cloud applications).
  • Strong experience using PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Writes powerfully in short messaging
Minimum Education And Experience RequirementsRequires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business, public administration or closely related field.
(One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.)Requires two (2) years experience in a staff or administrative role, specifically managing special projects, programs, or business operations relevant to Human Resources benefits, health/wellness, or closely related experience.
Special Certifications And Licenses RequiredMust possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E driver's license based on area of assignment.
Preferences
  • Masters degree or higher from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business, public administration, human resources, marketing, communications or closely related field.
  • WELCOA/National Wellness Institute
  • HRCI-SPHR, IPMA-SCP-SHRM-SCP or HRCI-PHR, IPMA-CP, SHRM CP
  • 2 years experience in graphic design with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
  • 2 years experience SharePoint content creation, design and coding
Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.Coordinates and manages all aspects of a large program or project within an agency.
Plans, develops, authorizes, implements, supervises and evaluates programs/projects, activities and services; facilitates inclusion, prepares reports, and analyzes and interprets data.
Develops policies, procedures and guidelines related to programs/projects and services.
Promotes and assesses agency programs and services; cooperatively plans and implements programs and community-wide special events.
Implements funding opportunities, including advertising and marketing, and researches potential grant opportunities; develops grant proposals to secure funding from federal, state, local, and/or private sources; oversees the coordination, preparation, and submission of grants to ensure compliance with established Broward County policies and procedures; manages and tracks grant budgets.
Develops personnel cap based on recommended budget for approval by the Board; implements all position additions, deletions, changes, reorganizations and transfers approved in the adopted budget.
Reviews position changes and transfers requested by other County agencies prior to implementing change to ensure compliance with adopted personnel cap; incorporates changes to the cap approved by the Board throughout the year.
May perform quality control checks on operating and budget documents to ensure accuracy, creates and modifies PowerPoint presentations for agency communication, creates core budget development support documents.
Monitors and supervises maintenance of project records and documentation.
Acts as administrative liaison among various County operational and administrative functions related to assigned programs and projects.
Conducts special studies in conjunction with a project, analyzes data, and makes recommendations based upon studies.
Creates and maintains performance/production reports (spreadsheets). This includes monthly productivity reports which provide monthly statistics for transactions processed and revenue generated.
Communicates key procedural changes to staff and management.
Performs related work as assigned.
