POSITION GOAL

To assist in the implementation of school health services.

ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

* Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program.

* Ability to implement health screening procedures, i.e., vision screening using the Keystone telebinocular machine, scoliosis screening, and/or teaching first aid.

* Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

* Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

* Skills in using health screening instruments or equipment, especially proper use of telebinocular machine; must complete both segments of a telebinocular workshop.

* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, and to use tact and good judgment.

* Ability to keep accurate records.

* Knowledge of basic medical terminology.

* Ability to assist in providing inservice training, e.g., vision and first aid as needed.

* Ability to travel to schools throughout the district.

* Ability to work with bilingual students.

* Ability to work with special needs children.

* Ability to work independently with indirect supervision.

* Computer skills as required for the position.
