We're excited to continue solidifying that foundation as we are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our growing team in a hybrid role in Tampa, Florida.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Lead, support, and complete all facets of vendor payables process for specific profit centers on a daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
- Complete tasks associated with the premium accounting transaction cycle. Learn all accounting aspects of the agency management financial reporting systems.
- Learn and complete all tasks associated with financial accounting, - including but not limited to transactional accounting, month end close process, and development of internal control policies and procedures.
- Assist with month-end close activities as required.
- Journal Entries
- Bank Reconciliations
- Account Reconciliations
- Other functions as assigned.
- Master all corporate guidelines including the Brown & Brown Accounting Guidelines.
- Promote teamwork, support, knowledge sharing and a positive attitude in the department and office.
- Participate in training opportunities to remain current on industry information, new product development, legislation, coverages, and technology including professional development and continuing education.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Proficient with MS Office Suite Products (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Industry software experience a plus
- Insurance background a plus
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Good analytical abilities.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
