Brown and Caldwell (BC) has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Marketing / Proposal Specialist in our growth-oriented engineering, environmental consulting, and construction firm.
The Marketing Specialist spends approximately 50% of their time supporting BC’s collaborative delivery business, known as Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), and 50% of their time on pursuits.
The IPD team partners with BC’s offices across the United States and Guam to pursue and deliver collaborative delivery projects, with an emphasis on design-build.
The Marketing / Proposal Specialist collaborates broadly with leadership across the company. The role supports all aspects of sales services, marketing strategy, internal and external communications, and brand enhancement associated with BC’s design-build business, with emphasis on marketing, pursuit planning, positioning, and proposal production.
Detailed Description :
The Marketing / Proposal Specialist reports to the Midwest Area Marketing Manager as the key marketing partner to the IPD Business Development Director and IPD Project Developers.
The role interfaces with BC’s corporate marketing services organization to foster cross utilization of best practices and resources tailored to servicing IPD sales pursuits and general marketing.
Collaborating with the IPD leadership team, the Marketing / Proposal Specialist :
Partners with IPD Business Development Director to maintain list of priority IPD pursuits.
following company brand guidelines, to ensure a consistent brand identity through all channels.
Supports the sales portion of the annual business planning process for IPD in close partnership with the IPD Business Development Director and Area Marketing Managers.
Works with local client service managers, marketers, area leaders, IPD area champions, and business unit managers to develop appropriate sales budgets for IPD pursuits and gain alignment and commitment to specific sales goals for the firm’s IPD business, each year.

This position will be based in one of our Midwest offices. Primary responsibilities include :
Proposal / Presentation Development : Partners with pursuit teams on area (water, wastewater, and infrastructure) pursuits to advance our positioning and deliver proposals that resonate with our clients.
Responsibilities include coordinating all elements of pursuits : strategy development, messaging, formatting, proofreading, coordination with graphics, editing / review, compliance, brand adherence, and efficient and timely production.
Ability to direct and lead interview preparation and coaching of technical staff as required.
Client Development : Provides general business development support to facilitate client contact by Client Service Managers (CSM), including assembling information packages, connecting CSMs to other clients, experts, and opportunities within the organization, organizing client workshops and special events, and maintaining marketing files.
Work with CSMs to understand and respond to client needs, meetings, and events.
Business Development : Contributes to company marketing process improvements to support efficiency and overall sales program effectiveness.
Provides planning support for regional conferences to maximize presence and investment.
Marketing Information : Manages process to create and maintain well-organized, up-to-date qualifications statements, project descriptions, and resumes that reflect firm strengths and client benefits.
Provides timely entry of accurate and complete opportunity information and products in company tracking system.
