Brown Gibbons Lang & Company is Hiring a Debt Capital Markets Investment Banking Associate Near Chicago, IL

The Debt Capital Markets Team (DCM) at Brown Gibbons Lang & Company (BGL) is seeking an Investment Banking Associate to join our team. The DCM Associate will be involved in all facets of BGL’s investment banking activities, including originating and executing capital markets advisory transactions for clients across a variety of transaction types and industry groups. This position is based out of our Chicago office.

Responsibilities:

Perform extensive financial analyses to evaluate creditworthiness of prospects and clients and prepare them for capital raising transactions
Supports senior bankers in transaction execution and client management
Conduct business due diligence and company-specific research
Assist in the development, production and delivery of proposals and presentations to clients and prospects
Research credit market trends and company profiles, as identified by senior bankers, to target certain lenders and prospective clients
Manage and oversee work streams of junior bankers

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree required (majoring in Business, Finance or Accounting)
Three or more year(s) prior experience in Debt Capital Markets or credit underwriting required
SIE Exam, Series 79, and Series 63 must be acquired
Strong knowledge of accounting and financial modeling
Proven track record of strong transaction execution including presentations, financial analysis, transaction marketing documents and preparation of other materials
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong work ethic and organization skills
Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines
