Brown & Root is Hiring a Piping Designer Near Houston, TX
Job Description POSITION DETAILS:
With minimum supervision, Designer is responsible piping and equipment design
Designer will utilize AutoCAD and 3D modelling
Position is responsible for field trips (when assigned) to gather and compile data
Position is responsible for producing engineering drawings, orthographic drawings, ISOs utilizing standard industry practices and code
Designer may be required to survey and use high-definition laser scanning
Designer will work on multiple/simultaneous projects at once
Designer is responsible to design with safety as a critical component and participate in safety trainings
Requirements QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree or Vocational Tech degree is highly valued
Minimum (3) years' experience in Piping Design/Administrator role
EPC and Field Experience preferred with targeted experience in petrochemical or refinery
Must include experience gathering/compiling field data via measurements, surveying and possibly using high-def laser scanning
Experience preparing engineering drawings, ISO's BOMs, Orthographic drawings in compliance with industry code and company/client guidelines
Experience utilizing AutoCAD 2002 (or higher version) is required
Experience utilizing 3D modelling is preferred (Plant 3D or CADWorx)
Actively engage in safety culture and onsite guidelines
Must be physically able to conduct field trips for review of equipment and engage with field personnel
Must be able to lift and carry up to (25) lbs.
Work schedules may include extended hours and possibly weekend work
