Summary

The Associate Recruitment and Sourcing Manager will join the People team and will be responsible for the full cycle recruitment and sourcing of talented lateral attorneys for our offices in both the US and the UK.

The ideal Manager will have at least five years of attorney recruiting experience in a national or international law firm. With the support of the Legal Recruitment Specialist, the Manager will lead a proactive recruitment strategy, while maintaining superior customer service. The Manager will be a Firm ambassador, have strong project management skills, and possess exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills. The primary responsibilities, qualifications, and capabilities for this role include the following:

Responsibilities

  • Manage lifecycle of firmwide lateral attorney recruitment, from hiring requests through orientation. Serving as primary point of contact to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Liaise with Managing Directors, Chief People Officer, hiring partners and others to understand and identify staffing needs.
  • Proactively and creatively source, attract, and engage targeted candidates using a multi-pronged approach.
  • Work with Director, Chief People Officer, and other stakeholders to develop and implement a plan for direct sourcing of key associate talent.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication, with discretion and sensitivity throughout the candidate’s experience.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with knowledgeable external recruiters.
  • Acquire general understanding of the Firm’s practice groups and the associated stakeholders.
  • Understand the Firm’s value proposition and business strategy to distinguish the Firm from other options.
  • Serve as the liaison between business professional teams, ensuring a positive experience during the recruiting and onboarding process.
  • Provide training, oversight, and guidance to the Legal Recruitment Specialist.
  • Organize external profiles (NALP, Chambers, Vault); coordinate annual surveys, data, and research.
  • Monitor legal publications and market trends; share new practices, information, and recommendations.
  • Maintain recurring reports and data; synthesize and analyze metrics and patterns.
  • Manage the maintenance of the internal databases (VI, Worksite) and external software (LinkedIn, Firm Prospects).
  • Take part in and lead cross-team projects in support of People Team goals.

Qualifications and Capabilities

  • At least five years of experience in attorney recruiting, talent management or other human resources related discipline, with two or more years of people management experience in relevant roles.
  • Ability to handle urgent and time sensitive matters; working under tight deadlines and managing multiple tasks.
  • Strong project management skills; organized, efficient, responsive, detail-orientated, delivers high-quality work product.
  • Excellent relationship building skills; team oriented, reliable, committed to collaboration.
  • Self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of VI recruit or similar applicant tracking system.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, LinkedIn and other talent management software.
