Die Shop – Die Chaser
Overview:
BRT Extrusions, located in Niles, OH, is looking for a Die Chaser to join our expanding Die Shop Department.

Die Chaser Overview:
This position entails being responsible for transporting dies to and from extrusion presses. The Die Chaser will work closely with other employees assigned to Die Shop and split duties per shift (Transporting/Caustic/Sorting and Storing Dies). The ideal candidate should be flexible and willing to work overtime. This position also requires frequent moving of heavy dies – 50lbs frequently and 75lbs occasionally with assistance. (See Physical Requirements of the Die Chaser) The Die Chaser is a Utility position and will be trained on department procedures and best practices.
Essential duties of the Die Chaser:
Use the extrusion schedule to plan the transport of dies.
Set up dies to the extrusion press per schedule.
Stage dies in the press die box to ensure Extrusion Supervisors and Press Operators are prepared for orders.
Retrieve spent dies from the extrusion press and run through caustic before putting them back in slots.
Communicate with Extrusion Supervisors of any challenges with dies and report back to the Die Shop Supervisor and Die Shop Manager.
Will be trained and certified on Forklift through BRT to transport dies and material for the Die Shop.
Move product and/or materials manually as required.
Keep work area clean throughout shift and put tools and materials back in the proper location.
Comply with Company policies including, but not limited, to all safety policies.
Requirements of the Die Chaser:
Must have ability to read and understand basic math and instructions in English.
Must maintain good attendance and commit to your schedule.
Must be 18 years of age to work in the plant.
Must be able to train on day shift if hired for afternoon or midnight shift.
Must have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Must be willing to work as a Utility worker in other departments if needed.
Physical Requirements of the Die Chaser:
This position requires the individual to work in a factory/manufacturing environment. The temperatures can fluctuate from hot to cold and the noise level is high. An individual in this role will be able to walk, bend, stoop, twist, turn, climb, and push/pull frequently. With proper safety equipment, an individual in this role may work above ground level (off the ground) occasionally. An individual in this role will need to be always aware of movement and/or noises around them. An individual in this role must move 50lbs frequently and up to 75lbs occasionally with a work partner. An individual in this role will remain stationary and/or traverse the factory as needed per essential duties of the position. An individual in this role will be an effective communicator verbally and in writing, and this role requires individuals to read and follow written procedures in English.
