Role Description
This is a full-time onsite role for an Operator that would travel from one project to the next throughout the state of Virginia. The work BHCI is performing consists of building access roads for utilities (transmission, distribution and underground), and civil site work for substations, highways, buildings, and parking lots. The Operator will be involved in site preparation tasks such as excavating & grading, leveling surfaces, reading grade stakes, using GPS operated equipment, and constructing access roads. The Operator will be responsible for operating light to heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner. The equipment includes but is not limited to excavators, bulldozers, and loaders. They will be responsible for equipment inspections and maintenance before and after using each machine daily to ensure proper and safe working conditions. The individual must be punctual and reliable. Any and all other duties assigned by the site foreman.
Qualifications
· 5 years’ experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, and loaders
· Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations
· Familiarity with maintenance of equipment
· Excellent hand-eye coordination and depth perception
· Ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions
· Willingness to work in inclement weather conditions
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Good attitude
· Willingness to travel
· Valid drivers license
· CDL license and OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus
· Clean driving record preferred
Hours
5 days a week, 8 to10 hours a day - time over 40 hours a week will be paid time and a half.
