Bruker offers differentiated, high-value life science and diagnostics systems and solutions in preclinical imaging, clinical phenomics research, proteomics and multiomics, spatial and single-cell biology, functional structural and condensate biology, as well as in clinical microbiology and molecular diagnostics.
The R&D Product Development Department of Nanostring, a premiere spatial biology subsidiary of Bruker, is seeking a highly motivated and technology-savvy Scientist I . This position will have a key role in assay development, sustaining, and system validation of spatial profiling technology including the GeoMx® Digital Spatial Profiler, CosMx™ Spatial Molecular Imager, and AtoMx™ Spatial Informatics Platform. You will have opportunities for close collaboration between biologists, engineers, chemists, software developers and external customers/collaborators. A successful candidate must be passionate about wet lab driven experimentations to find innovative solutions to development hurdles and analytical skills to make decisions on next steps. Candidate must have strong analytical skills, oral and written communication skills, and strong track record of independent and collaborative research and development.
Responsibilities
  • Design, carry out, interpret, and troubleshoot experiments with limited supervision
  • Organize and communicate results to supervisor and senior management verbally and/or in writing
  • Perform 80-90% bench work on specified projects
  • Work cooperatively in a cross-functional team environment
  • Deliver results under tight timelines
  • Present data to product development teams, management representatives and collaborators.
  • Write protocols, experimental summary reports, quality documents and other scientific literature associated with projects
  • Analyze large, complex data sets using spreadsheets and/or other data analysis packages
Qualifications
  • Degree in bioengineering, biophysics, molecular biology or related field (more experienced B.S. or M.S. considered).
  • At least 4 years of hands-on molecular biology experience
  • Experience with protein detection methodologies, proteomics, multiplexed protein assays and handling antibodies
  • Experience with immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, or immunofluorescence microscopy
  • Experience with RNA and DNA sample preparation, genomics and a wide variety of nucleic acid protocols
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Organized and detailed-oriented with ability to communicate results effectively
  • Preferences for experience developing products for the life sciences and/or molecular diagnostics industries
  • Must work cooperatively in a product-oriented team environment
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with and understanding of next-generation sequencing
  • Experience with IF/IHC, in situ hybridization, and microscopy
  • Experience with tissue sectioning using a microtome and/or cryostat
  • Experience in neurobiology.
  • Experience with image processing and scientific programing (R, Python, ImageJ)
At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $$74,000 and $118,000 provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.The base salary for the role will depend on a several job-related factors, including, but not limited to education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge and travel requirements for this position. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive in addition to a full range of benefits including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program and paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.
