Job Title: Environmental Technician

Work Location: New Orleans, Louisiana / Metairie, Louisiana

Industry: Oil & Gas

Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday, fully in-office/on-site (no opportunity for remote/hybrid schedule)

Work Type: Direct Hire

Role Overview:

As an Environmental Technician, you'll be pivotal in executing and overseeing our environmental management system to align with business goals while ensuring strict compliance with site permits. Your core responsibility will be hands-on environmental support across the facility. We seek candidates with a diverse skill set acquired through practical experience, education, or a blend of both.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Environmental Department to maintain compliance across various environmental management programs, conducting inspections, audits, and monitoring of air, water, and waste systems.
  • Provide on-the-ground support to Environmental Specialists and Supervisors.
  • Conduct comprehensive environmental training sessions for personnel.
  • Guarantee the effective implementation of environmental procedures within operational units to meet performance goals.
  • Act as a knowledgeable resource for environmental policies, plans, and procedures.
  • Serve as the point person for environmental issues, available on-call for prompt response.
  • Contribute to the development and realization of area or plant environmental objectives.
  • Ensure timely completion of environmental compliance tasks.
  • Perform environmental monitoring, data collection, and analysis for the facility.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education and Certifications: Minimum of an associate’s degree in a science-related field or equivalent Military training (4 years), or a High School Diploma with extensive relevant experience (5 years).
  • Possession of a current, valid US driver's license.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
  • Willingness to adhere to a 7/7 rotating schedule.
  • Ability to pass a background screening for a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Capability to work in demanding outdoor conditions and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Proficiency in computer operations, including Apple Mac and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, Project & PowerPoint).
