Our client is looking for a Director of Operations for their New York site. This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of their food manufacturing facilities. This role ensures that all manufacturing processes run efficiently, meet quality standards, and comply with safety regulations. The Director of Operations will drive operational excellence, manage production teams, and implement strategies to optimize productivity and cost-effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of the manufacturing process, from raw material procurement to finished product distribution.
• Develop and implement production plans, schedules, and workflows to meet customer demands and business goals.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team, including production managers, supervisors, and line workers.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure all products meet stringent quality standards and specifications.
• Implement and monitor quality control systems and processes.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Drive initiatives for lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Manage budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure cost-effective operations.
• Oversee the maintenance and procurement of equipment and supplies.
• Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute long-term operational strategies.
• Provide insights and recommendations to support business growth and expansion.
• Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational effectiveness.
• Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, challenges, and opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• 10 years of experience in operations management within the food manufacturing industry.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in using ERP systems and other manufacturing software
