Human Resources Assistant
F/T |Temp to Possible Perm
Amityville, LI NY. Brunswick Hospital Center (BHC), is a 146-bed private, acute-care psychiatric hospital that is licensed by The New York State Office of Mental Health and accredited by The Joint Commission and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Brunswick Hospital Center caters to a diverse population throughout the NY Metropolitan region and is located 45 minutes from Manhattan and in close proximity to all major expressways and the LIRR/local bus service. We’re currently seeking full time temporary Human Resources Assistant to join our team.
In this role, you will:
· Reconcile all Insurance bills- (Aetna, Davis, Principle, Emblem, UHC-Oxford, Boston)
· Administer all benefits to staff including open enrollments-change in status etc. (New Hires)-
· Present Benefits portion of the Orientation
· Cobra Administration
· Process ABG-HRA Reimbursements
· Employee Benefits-New Employees, Aging out dependents, Enrollment/disenrollment
· Keep updated on any changes with NYS/Federal regulations and laws
· Work with Finance (CFO) /Aflac 401K /Accounting Bills/reports/reimbursements
· Principal (Life Insurance) new enrollments
· Leaves Personnel, FMLA, PFL, DBL-Collect and keep track of all appropriate documentation coinciding with proper leave requests-(Return to work documents, clearances) -coordinate working with Payroll for time qualify/salary if necessary etc.
· Keep track of days out on leave in ADP (HRIS system)
· Employee Health (staff out sick) or hurt collect all return-to-work docs and obtain clearance from MD/Nurse Practitioner on staff for sign off
· Keep all attestations current (policies, training, performance evaluations & competencies, annual in-services, annual health assessments)
· Process Tuition Reimbursements-collect documentation
· Assist w/Incident reports-file and follow up) clearances, and assist with Workers Comp--assist with getting medical bills paid for no loss time injury if necessary
· Prepare and maintain accurate records and files
We require:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related degree or equivalent exp with minimum of (2) years HR experience-- HR exp in healthcare or hospital preferred.
· Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
· Excellent Communication skills, ability to work well with others in a team environment
· Ongoing knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
