Brynmor Early Education & Preschool is Hiring an Early Childhood Educator Near Lorton, VA

About The PositionBrynmor will open its first site in Lorton, VA at Liberty Market in the fall of 2023. We are seeking many Early Childhood Educators for our Infant, Toddler and Preschool pods. Educators will work as a team with the Early Childhood Educator Team Leads to open and lead our flagship location serving 156 children ages six weeks through five years. The candidates will provide Brynmor with an innovative advantage by identifying and implementing promising new ways of delivering exceptional care and experiences to our children, their families and our team. These are roles that require thought leaders with an entrepreneurial mindset, exceptional operational and people skills, and a demonstrated commitment to high quality early care and education.
Our Early Childhood Educators will be responsible for the daily health, safety, well-being, development and learning of young children in their care. They will have independence and work as a collaborative team to ensure the experiences young children are having at Brynmor optimize their health, development and learning.
These individuals will see themselves as proactive partners with families—actively communicating about child experiences, their observations and listening and learning from families about their aspirations and concerns for their children.
Educators should be enthusiastic about co-creating a new company’s experience and contributing to the evolving operations and growth of the organization. These individuals are eager to contribute to the daily culture to ensure we are living into our commitment to children and families including strong adherence to all policies and practices designed to ensure the health, safety, development and learning of each, and every child in our care.
The candidates are transparent and collaborative partners willing to innovate and experiment to support the evolving practice of high-quality early childhood education.
Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate Brynmor’s vision, mission, values and beliefs that center children, families and educators as the core components to high quality early childhood education.
  • Ensure the safety, care, well-being and learning of children at all times and compliance with all local, state and federal laws, standards and regulations.
  • Ensure that high quality, inviting, well-resourced environments and materials are maintained and accessible both in each classroom and outdoors.
  • Exemplify the highest level of business and personal integrity, be mission driven and have a team orientation at all times.
  • Competently utilize HighScope Curriculum and COR Advantage to drive decisions about daily lesson planning, activities and child experiences.
  • Establish and maintain strong, proactive relationships and communications with families. Partner with educator teammates to ensure the entire experience for children and families and the Brynmor team is one of mutual respect, shared responsibility and a common vision.

Qualifications
  • Minimum high school diploma with Child Development Associate (CDA). Associates degree in early childhood education or closely related field preferred.
  • Preferred experience in working in a NAEYC Accredited early education program.
  • Preferred experience in HighScope curriculum.
  • Familiarity with COR Advantage Assessment and Brightwheel child care management is welcomed. Familiarity with Reggio Emilia approaches and practices is welcomed.
  • Fluency in multiple languages is welcomed.
