Sr Media Relations & PR Strategy Manager Irvine, CA/ Full-time Your ResponsibilitiesAs the Senior Media Relations & PR Strategy Manager for region North America, this role is instrumental in managing and executing media relations strategies to strengthen the visibility and reputation of BSH Home Appliances (BSH) across the region, encompassing the U.S., Canada and Mexico. This position demands adept relationship-building skills, strategic expertise, and the ability to effectively engage with media outlets and stakeholders.
  • Corporate Media Relations and Strategy for Region North America: Spearhead media relations efforts to garner positive coverage and publicity for BSH across region North America (incl. U.S., Canada and Mexico). Develop, manage and execute media strategies for planned campaigns, research studies, ongoing programs and real-time news events that lead to ongoing, positive media coverage. Responsible for planning and executing engaging media events, press conferences, and briefings to showcase BSH initiatives and milestones. Stay ahead of relevant industry/economic/cultural trends and drive story opportunities from real-time news events.
  • Establish and Maintain Strong Relationships: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with national, regional and trade media outlets, journalists, analysts and influencers, fostering opportunities for impactful storytelling, brand advocacy while amplifying presence and messaging in the media.
  • Ensure Integrated BSH Communication: Foster seamless coordination and integration of communication efforts by closely collaborating with brand PR teams (Bosch, Thermador, Gaggenau) and product marketing teams. Responsible for messaging, strategies, and activities to uphold a cohesive, one-voice positioning while leveraging the corporate identity and unique attributes of each brand. Manage communications and media relations governance and counsel to brands and product marketing teams ensuring reputational management and integrated, cohesive messaging. Oversee and manage PR agency media relations activities.
  • Responsible for Managing Testing Agency/Review Houses/Media Commerce Outlets (TARH) Relations: Manage relationships and engagements with external testing agencies, review houses, media commerce outlets (TARH) to facilitate company and product information flow, product evaluations, reviews, licensing and affiliate editorial. Manage and coordinate internal team TARH activities. Serve as TARH communications counsel for the internal organization. Ensure adherence to BSH's quality standards and messaging guidelines.
  • Serve as Corporate Spokesperson: Act as the spokesperson for BSH in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, articulating the company's vision, values, and initiatives to the media, stakeholders, and the public. Manage day-to-day media relations and media inquiries efficiently; confidently manage issues and crises situations and disseminate appropriate information to media. Responsible for media materials including key messages, statements, talking points, briefing books, FAQs, speeches, press releases and white papers to bolster communication efforts. Deliver key messages, talking points and media responses in alignment with corporate objectives. Oversee spokesperson network and coordinate media and PR activities with locations and factories and brands.
  • News Bureau, Media Monitoring and Reporting: Manage the operation of a centralized news bureau for BSH in North America, curating and disseminating relevant news and updates to media contacts. Stay on top of developments in newsrooms, news organizations and trends impacting the media landscape. Provide counsel to the organization informing the organization of the changing media landscape. Facilitate media training for the leadership team and company spokespersons. Maintain media database utilizing media management tools, monitor media coverage, analyze and report findings in accordance with strategies and KPIs.
  • Government Affairs Support: Work closely with Government Affairs and serve as deputy for Government Affairs lead as needed. Collaborate and support the implementation of programs and strategies to represent BSH’s interest at the federal, state, provincial and local level in the U.S. and Canada.
Your profile
  • Bachelor’s degree (Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or equivalent experience) – Required
  • Master's Degree – Preferred
  • 7-10 Years of Experience (Public Relations, Communications, Journalism) – Required
  • Extensive integrated PR expertise, with a focus in corporate communications and brand PR.
  • Demonstrated media relations expertise.
  • Strong strategic mindset, with ability to translate business objectives into integrated PR strategies.
  • Strategic thinker who can turn business objectives into practical actions, lead complex projects, and work effectively in a matrixed environment.
  • Exceptional communicator and ability to build and maintain strong relationships with media.
  • Ability to build effective internal relationships, influence stakeholders and coordinate across multiple departments.
  • Ability to thrive in a high pace environment where adaptability is important.
  • Exceptional writing skills, speaking and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in PR measurement and demonstrating results.
  • Experience with PR media and analytics database tools - Muck Rack, Cision, Burrelles, etc.
  • Travel Percentage – 30%
Hybrid position; must live local to the Irvine, CA office and be available to work out of the office
Your Pay & BenefitsThe pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.
