OPPORTUNITY

Our client is one of Georgia’s leading healthcare providers with a system of acute-care facilities and outpatient locations around Metro Atlanta. This healthcare system is among the state’s top providers of cancer care, surgical and cardiovascular services, labor & delivery, and sports medicine.

The primary responsibilities for this Physician Development Manager position are to lead strategic planning and implementation projects, oversee physician hiring and contract negotiations, and develop long-term departmental plans for continued advancement. This role will focus on MOBs and Outpatient facilities within our client’s operations and will participate in community outreach initiatives to continually develop the company’s brand identity and reputation in the markets they serve.

SCOPE OF WORK

  • Develop objectives and implement plans to support strategic alignment strategies for the division.
  • Recruits physicians as needed for upcoming projects and assists with interview coordination, candidate travel, interview feedback, offer letters, and the initiation of new hire onboarding process. This will involve communication with onboarding teams including IT, HR, Finance, Compliance, Quality, Marketing, and more.
  • Interview, hire, train, supervise, mentor, and evaluate Physician Development associate team members.
  • Engage with pre-determined consulting firms to perform FMV assessments. FMVs will be used to evaluate fair market value for physicians and determine proper alignment strategy for each physician group within the organization. This role will present FMV results and create presentations on recommendations based on findings.
  • Engage with pre-determined legal counsel and to draft physician agreements and other legal documents including, but not limited to; PSA agreements, Asset Purchase agreements, Lease Assignments and/or Property Purchase. The drafting of employment agreements will involve negotiating terms with physician groups, prepare letters of intent (LOI), ensure contracts are signed, and initiate contracting/onboarding processes.
  • Confirm credentialling for all supported medical staff within assigned division.
  • Coordinate with facility and marketing teams for renovation, expansion, or new builds for medical operations and office space at various sites around Northern Atlanta.
  • Prepares Needs Assessment, Compensation Coversheet and Contracting Report for internal distribution.
  • Reviews all vendor contracts on a rolling basis to ensure compliance and timely preparation for renewals. This role will initiative the renewal process with all vendors, consulting firms, legal counsel, internal teams, and physicians.
  • Researches and evaluates healthcare market changes and recommends appropriate strategies for growth. Will develop and implement alignment strategies to achieve system goals and objectives.
  • Develops and implements quality improvement plans to align with the hospital's Mission and Values statement; ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory and accreditation agencies.
  • Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury or accident to management.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration or a related discipline
  • 4 years of work experience in a hospital setting with a minimum of 2 years in healthcare administration overseeing medical staff training and general personnel management
  • Business development or sales acumen and an interest in community engagement
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret journals, industry articles, technical procedure manuals, department policies, etc.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to make presentations or lead public speaking engagements to groups of varying sizes
  • Must possess a valid GA driver’s license and personal automobile
