Our employees’ impact can take many forms. In this role, the Project Engineer will lead all technical and engineering aspects of the projects required to help OTP meet our mission.
The Project Engineer provides operation, maintenance, and engineering support for all generator assets. Other duties include, research and analyze emerging technologies in the generation field to support Resource Planning. Review, evaluate, report, and ensure compliance with new and existing regulatory requirements for generator assets. Find technical solutions for issues and concerns and justify, execute, and complete in a cost-effective manner. Manage engineering, equipment supply, and construction contracts. Interact with vendors and consultants related to equipment and systems. Evaluate and justify maintenance and performance projects.
QualificationsA bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering with knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and civil/structural systems associated with electrical generation is required. Must have the ability to learn environmental and safety regulations and policies; and accounting and purchasing practices. Requires thorough knowledge of good engineering practice and fundamentals. Must have excellent time management, interpersonal and communication skills. Selected candidates will be required to complete a pre-interview assessment.
Requires the following physical abilities: Able to lift 50 pounds; able to climb stairs; able to work in hot, cold, dark, dusty, chemical vapors, noisy and confined environments; possess and maintain a valid driver’s license; able to sit or stand for long periods of time; and perform tasks that require manual dexterity.
