Business Technology Integrators (BTI) is seeking an experienced BigFix Engineer with extensive expertise in managing and optimizing large-scale enterprise environments exceeding 50,000 endpoints. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of BigFix architecture and operations, with a focus on integrating data across multiple BigFix core installations. The candidate must hold one of the following certifications from HCL Technologies: HCL BigFix Platform 10/11 Professional, Platform 11 Administrator, or HCL BigFix Compliance 10 Administrator.

Key Responsibilities:

1. BigFix Engineering and Administration:

   • Manage and maintain BigFix environments in large-scale enterprises with more than 50,000 endpoints.
   • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of BigFix servers, relays, and clients across multiple locations.
   • Monitor BigFix environments for performance, scalability, and security, ensuring they operate optimally and efficiently.

2. Data Integration Across Multiple BigFix Core Installations:

   • Combine and consolidate data from multiple BigFix core installations to provide unified reporting and management.
   • Develop and implement strategies for seamless data integration, ensuring consistent data quality and availability across the enterprise.
   • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data synchronization and integration between multiple BigFix instances.

3. Patch Management and Software Deployment:

   • Utilize BigFix to manage and automate patch deployment across a large number of endpoints, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and security standards.
   • Develop and deploy software packages through BigFix, customizing installations to meet the specific needs of different departments or user groups.

4. Security and Compliance Management:

   • Implement and maintain security configurations using BigFix Compliance to ensure all endpoints adhere to organizational security policies.
   • Conduct regular audits and compliance checks, generating reports to verify that endpoints meet required security standards.

5. Automation and Scripting:

   • Create custom scripts and fixlets to automate routine tasks, enhance operational efficiency, and reduce manual intervention.
   • Design and implement custom BigFix content to address specific organizational needs, such as custom software deployments or configuration changes.

6. Reporting and Analytics:

   • Generate detailed reports on system health, patch compliance, software deployments, and other key metrics using BigFix’s reporting tools.
   • Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to improve overall system performance and security.

7. Collaboration and Communication:

   • Work closely with IT teams, security teams, and other stakeholders to align BigFix operations with broader IT and business objectives.
   • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers, helping them to develop their skills in BigFix administration and engineering.

8. Documentation and Knowledge Management:

   • Maintain comprehensive documentation of BigFix configurations, procedures, and best practices.
   • Ensure that all operational processes are documented and updated regularly to reflect changes in the environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience:
  • Extensive experience in BigFix engineering and administration in large-scale enterprise environments with more than 50,000 endpoints.
  • Proven experience in managing and integrating data across multiple BigFix core installations.
  • Strong background in IT security, compliance, and patch management using BigFix.
• Certifications: Must hold one of the following certifications from HCL Technologies:
  • HCL BigFix Platform 10/11 Professional
  • Platform 11 Administrator
  • HCL BigFix Compliance 10 Administrator
• Technical Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of BigFix architecture, including servers, relays, and clients.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, VBScript) for automation within BigFix.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, and security principles.
  • Experience with enterprise-level reporting and analytics within BigFix.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
