BTI is Hiring a Part-Time IT Project Manager (20 hours per week) Near Washington, DC

Business Technology Integrators (BTI) in Upper Marlboro, MD is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented IT Project Manager on a part-time basis, working 20 hours per week. This role requires a versatile understanding of Information Technology (IT) and Cybersecurity capabilities, along with strong project management skills to oversee and coordinate various IT initiatives. The ideal candidate will be adept at quantifying and communicating complex technical information, managing budgets, and ensuring the successful delivery of IT projects.Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project Management: Assist in managing and tracking the IT strategic plan, ensuring tasks and projects are executed effectively. Oversee the development and maintenance of a comprehensive roadmap for IT infrastructure projects and upgrades, prioritizing and assigning them for successful execution.
  2. Communication: Clearly and concisely deliver status updates on multiple concurrent projects through both verbal and written formats. Utilize strong verbal and written communication skills to ensure stakeholders are informed of progress, challenges, and outcomes.
  3. Technical Understanding: Leverage a broad understanding of IT and Cybersecurity capabilities, as well as knowledge of technology integration across physical, virtual, and cloud-based environments, to support project planning and execution.
  4. Contract Analysis and Cost Management: Perform detailed contract analysis, schedule reviews, and cost estimations. Assist with budget and cost analysis, including comparisons and Service Portfolio Management, to ensure projects are delivered within scope and budget.
  5. Documentation and Policy Development: Assist in the preparation of program plans, including contract cost-analysis, contract management, and the development of budgets and schedules. Participate in the creation and review of policies, procedures, and work instructions to ensure alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  6. Technical Review and Oversight: Provide support in the technical review of IT tasks, ensuring that project deliverables meet technical requirements and quality standards.
  7. Project Management Tools: Utilize project management tools to track progress, manage resources, and ensure project milestones are met. Provide input on the selection and use of these tools to optimize project delivery.
  8. Attention to Detail: Ensure all aspects of project management are handled with a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness, from initial planning to final execution and reporting.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in an IT-related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT project management.
  • Certifications: PMP certification is preferred, though equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of IT and Cybersecurity capabilities, technology integration, and experience with project management tools.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Contract Management: Experience in contract analysis, cost estimation, and budget management.
  • Policy Development: Experience in developing policies, procedures, and work instructions.
Additional Requirements:
  • A background check will be conducted. Security clearance is not required.
