Your Hometown Stations is a FOX/NBC/ABC/CBS-affiliated television station located at 1424 Rice Avenue in Lima, Ohio. Your Hometown Stations is owned by Block Communications, located at 405 Madison Avenue in Toledo, Ohio.
Your Hometown Stations is looking for a Meteorologist to be a part of a 3 person weather team!If you have a passion for weather, WLIO wants to hear from you. Your Hometown Lima Stations has an opening for an on-air personality dedicated to providing the weather to weather hungry Northwest & West Central Ohio viewers. The winning candidate will present the weather during our weekday 6am & 12pm newscasts.
What you will do:This is a unique opportunity as we have all 4 major networks under one roof! Our morning meteorologist does live weather reports from the field along with in the studio. Duties will include, but not limited to, handling live weather casts on our morning and noon shows, Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate has energy, loves to chat about weather, and has the personality to bring a smile to our viewers faces. Also, to one person band reporting during the week in between weather shows. We have live capabilities, expect successful candidate to be able to go live for both weather & news. Being able to shoot, edit and write news stories is helpful, but will train. Successful candidates must work well with the weather team and news staff. Candidates will also be required to post the forecast on our website, and Facebook page.
You must be able to work well with the team- no attitudes or egos allowed!
What you will bring to the team:
- An outgoing and friendly personality
- Working knowledge of social media, i.e. Facebook and website
- A Meteorology degree is required.
- Working knowledge of WSI Max, ENPS, and Adobe Premiere is preferred
