The Investment Strategist supports the firm’s investment research, portfolio strategy, and portfolio management initiatives as well as client and advisor relationships by actively participating in investment discussions, conducting analytical research, writing investment/market commentary and speaking with business partners to educate and promote our investment philosophy.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Support advisors as an extension of their advisory team to provide investment strategy related support
• Serve as investment strategy subject-matter expert in meetings with clients and/or advisors
• Support the Buckingham Investment Policy Committee (IPC) in investment research, policy, implementation, and oversight initiatives
• Work closely with Marketing/Compliance to update and maintain investment strategy content
• Actively participate is investment strategy discussions
• Support investment strategy related projects
• Maintain an understanding of the investment industry inclusive of potential additions to Buckingham’s approved securities list
• Participate in due diligence for new and existing investment manager relationships
• Evaluate new investment managers for possible inclusion on the approved and/or recommended securities lists
• Serve as subject-matter expert in at least one investment strategy area
• Provide oversight of client portfolios to make sure IPC recommendations are being implemented
• Prepare reports and investment analyses for IPC meetings
• Update and maintain various fund and portfolio monitoring-related tasks

Basic Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or related field
• Actively pursuing an advanced degree in Math/Finance or CFA charter (or comparable certifying exam)

Work Experience:

• 3 years of experience in an investment strategy role in the financial services industry
