In Short: The Loader Operator- Shipping is responsible for loading outgoing materials and unloading incoming materials to designated areas as assigned. The work often involves picking and staging finished products for orders. Motorized equipment such as a front-end loader or forklift are used to move materials to and from storage, production areas, and trucks. The loader operator-shipping is also responsible for processing all return, receiving, and shipping paperwork. Role and Responsibilities:
Participate in mandatory stretching exercise program
Receive direction and work orders from the Operations Manager
Verify that tools and equipment are in proper working condition
Follow all safety regulations
Verify the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming material
Make sure packaging is secure and intact, labeled properly, and placed in designated area
Load/unload trucks for outside contractors, customers, and raw stone materials
Handle returns by completing Operations Return process and required communication
Keep all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting daily inspection
Ensure product meets quality standards
Process required paperwork
Maintain an organized and neat work area
Take inventory of stock and/or finished product
Supply production with needed materials from inventory
Place finished stock in designated area
Computer entry of inventory and loads ready for shipping
Setup orders for shipping as required
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Certification in loader and forklift operation- Training and certification are provided on site
Knowledge of operating heavy equipment or forklift experience
Able to work with minimal supervision, be proactive, and able to work with others
Data entry, math and computer skills
Written and verbal communication skills
Ability to read, write and speak English
Have the ability to lift objects weighing between 50-100 pounds
