Summary:
Supervisors are responsible for overseeing the equipment, staff and processes of their assigned areas. They manage their team and oversee scheduling and day-to-day production activities. Supervisors are primarily in charge of ensuring the production area is operational and maintaining the ongoing production of products/materials. They are also responsible for troubleshooting any issues that arise.
Role and Responsibilities:

• Overseeing the manufacturing and procedures in the manufacturing production operations while promoting safety, quality and an environment of teamwork and cooperation
• Evaluating each work station of the production process to maintain optimum system efficiency
• Enforcing all safety policies on the production floor
• Creating and overseeing employee training to increase production, enhance safe operations and ensure profitability
• Inspecting products for quality and accuracy prior to shipping
• Maintaining communication between management and employees to ensure that necessary policies are understood and followed as well as report employee concerns to Human Resources
• Ensuring that the flow of resources like raw materials is maintained and that production items are delivered as needed and used properly and efficiently
• Provide leadership and direction to department staff
• Schedule and coordinate work that is to be completed
• Monitor and report daily and monthly production goals as well as enter daily production totals into the production sheets
• Ensure that all work related injuries are reported in a timely manner and all appointments and paperwork are in order
• Communicate and enforce company policies in a fair and consistent manner
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment
• Adhere to departmental budget and recommend capital budget needs
• Report any items that are in need of maintenance repairs
• Assist with inspections of your departments with OSHA/MSHA inspectors
• Assist with vendors or outside contractors as needed
• Monitor supplies and communicate with office as needed
• Conduct weekly safety discussions
• Conduct performance evaluations
• Handle additional tasks as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• Minimum of two years supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment
• Associate degree in supervisor management
• Ability to create and adhere to effective schedules
• Strong organizational skills
• Firm understanding of safety regulations including MSHA or OSHS
• Ability to read a Material Safety Data Sheet (SDS)
• Computer skills and the ability to use MS Office products
• Strong leadership skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; Bi-lingual a plus- but not required
