The Buffalo County Highway Department is seeking applicants to fill the Highway Maintenance Worker/Equipment Operator position.

The reporting location will be out of the Alma Shop.

The duties of this position will include, but are not limited to truck driving, snow plowing, general highway maintenance, light equipment operation and some heavy equipment operation. This position does these duties for both the Highway and Recycling Departments.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to physically perform the jobs duties on a continuous basis. Applicants will need to maintain a valid, Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with air brakes, Class A is preferred. Interested candidates not holding a current CDL are encouraged to apply as formal CDL training is available through the County for those meeting other job requirements. Applicants must be available for work on call. Starting pay is $22.21 per hour.
