As a Bearhouse Security Guard, the primary responsibility will be to observe and report activities and incidents, providing for the safety and security of Build-A-Bear property and personnel. This position will also be responsible for the front desk, answering phone calls, and transferring callers to the appropriate area for assistance.

This position will include but is not limited to: 

• Watching for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sounding alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
• Answering all in-coming calls and directing to appropriate personnel. 
• Communicating any call off's to Bearhouse HR.
• Reporting any rule infractions and communicating with Bearhouse Leadership
• Retrieving and sorting mail for the Bearhouse.
• Reporting any issues with breakroom machinery and first aid needs.
• Using security cameras to investigate and helping to prepare reports on accidents, incidents and suspicious activities.
• Permitting authorized persons to enter property and monitoring entrances and exits. 
• Observing departing personnel to protect against theft of company property.
• Providing assistance to customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Assisting HR with engagement activities and preparations 
• Other duties as assigned by management

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of prior security and/or military experience 
• 1-2 years of customer service experience
• High School Diploma
• English fluency in both written and oral communication
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
• Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
• Ability to commute on site daily to Groveport, OH

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3 years of customer service experience
• 3 years of military and/or security experience
• Multi-lingual - Spanish or French preferred

Position Details:

• Status: Full Time
• Hours: 6:00AM-2:30PM Monday-Friday
• Reports to: HR Manager
• Pay: $17.50
