Job Title: Inside Sales Supervisor

Location: Builders CO

Department: Sales

Reports To: Market Sales Manager

Salary: Non-Exempt, Hourly

Status: Full-time

Summary: Responsible for training, mentoring and supervising the Inside Sales/Support Sales staff. Ensures the highest quality of service and knowledge to assist the Outside Sales team. Other responsibilities include placing special orders, preparing quotes, preparing orders for the delivery of products to the job site, waiting on customers, answering telephone inquiries, and knowledge of products and vendors. Responsible for coordinating their own assigned accounts as deemed necessary by the Market Sales Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that every customer receives high quality service, maintains outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of customer service.
  • Lead sales support team by assisting with customer orders, quotes, delivery management, and prompt follow up.
  • Works cooperatively with assigned outside sales team member to support and promote sales efforts.
  • Proactively works with management and purchasing department to ensure proper inventory levels are maintained and support all company-purchasing programs.
  • Provide assistance in the administration and management of customer and vendors credits pending.
  • Ensure all period processes are regularly followed and maintained to ensure the quality of system information. (i.e. open order maintenance, quote management, etc.)
  • Trains, mentors and supervises designated department Team Members; continually evaluate and react to performance issues; coach team members to improve performance and service. Works with sales team on establishing annual performance goals and coaches the team to achieve performance to goal.
  • Communicates with Team Members about duties to be performed, scheduling, products, customers, and other team members. May re-assign work to meet deadlines.
  • Assist Market Sales Manager with day-to-day activities as determined by Market Sales Manager.
  • Provides customers with information on additional items related to product purchases.
  • Promotes team building concepts.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures.

**NOTE: These are the essential, but not limited, functions of the Inside Sales Supervisor position. Management has the discretion to add to or change the duties/responsibilities to be performed by this position.

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.

Experience: minimum 6 months of inside sales experience and/or training is preferred.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on developing a positive rapport with management, employees, customers and vendors.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to take projects/tasks through to completion.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills with the ability to effectively multi-task.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and administrative skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills to lead the team in processes and procedures.
  • Ability to read blueprints and produce simple estimates.
  • Good product knowledge as it relates to the building material industry.
  • Basic understanding of construction application and techniques.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and use other math skills as related to position.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn Microsoft Office and industry related software programs.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, sales, and customer service skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand/walk/sit.
  • Ability to climb, bend, kneel, squat, and reach overhead to grasp materials.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Supervisory Responsibility: Supervise Inside Sales/Sales Support Team Members.

Environment and Working Conditions: Customer service assigned in a good, fast paced environment. Work inside in controlled temperatures. Occasionally assist in the yard and warehouse as needed.
