Description Job Title: Project Accountant
Compensation: $65,000-$95,000 Salary
The JobThe Project Accountant will be assigned to a specific business unit to focus on recurring accounting functions as well as assist in improving current and implementing new back-office systems and processes. This role will work cross departmentally to ensure accurate financial data is recorded and reported monthly. Month-end close activities will include some preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and income statement flux analysis. With major system implementations planned, the Project Accountant will have an instrumental role assisting in configuration of new systems to meet their assigned business unit’s accounting needs.
What You Will Do
  • Record and reconcile daily cash receipts for Vendors/Suppliers within current accounting system.
  • Invoice Vendor/Suppliers for rebates, incentives, and other annual/quarterly expenses.
  • Ensure business unit’s revenue is correctly calculated and assessed to builders in the correct period.
  • Review and process invoice adjustments and rebate write-offs.
  • Process monthly rebate distributions to Builders.
  • Assist in monthly reconciliation of subscription revenue from current subscription billing platform.
  • Monitor outstanding business unit’s receivables and work with the appropriate internal teams to ensure collection.
  • Work towards implementation of new subscription and rebates billing systems, tracking towards full integration into NetSuite.
  • Assist in evaluating and revising current business unit’s accounting procedures to ensure both compliance and future scalability.
  • Assist in year-end audit preparation.
Who You Are And What You Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years relevant experience required.
  • Experience with system conversions, ERP implementations, or project management.
  • NetSuite experience preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Adaptable to change.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced, hyper growth environment
  • Detail oriented with ability to problem solve and apply analytical skill.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
