**Job Description:**
The Inventory Specialist at Burggraf’s Ace Hardware will be responsible for overseeing the inventory management process, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring the accuracy and availability of stock. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
Inventory Management:
- Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to meet store needs.
- Ensure accurate records of all stock movements, including receiving, stocking, and distribution.
- Inventory Audits:
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile any discrepancies with system records.
- Investigate and resolve inventory variances.
- System Maintenance:
- Update and manage inventory databases and software systems.
- Ensure all inventory data is accurate and up-to-date.
Coordination:
- Work closely with the purchasing, sales, and store management teams to align inventory levels with demand forecasts and sales trends.
- Communicate any stock issues or delays promptly.
Reporting:
- Generate and analyze inventory reports, providing insights and recommendations to management.
- Prepare detailed reports on inventory status, movements, and trends.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory management processes and implement best practices.
- Develop and enforce inventory control procedures.
Supplier Management:
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Manage relationships with key suppliers to optimize inventory levels and reduce lead times.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized inventory storage area.
- Customer Service:
- Assist customers with product inquiries and ensure stock availability to meet their needs.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in inventory management or a similar role, preferably in a retail environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., ERP systems) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items, as needed, up to 50 pounds.
**Job Details:**
- Job Type: Full-time
- Pay: $17.00 to $25.00 per hour
- Expected hours: 40-50 per week
- Shift: Monday to Friday, weekends as needed
- Work Location: In Person with some travel
