DescriptionThe Supervisor of Behavioral Consultation Services works with the Director of Adult Services and a team of behavioral consultants to provide a range of applied behavior analytic (ABA) assessment and clinical services for adolescents and adults, ages 18 and older, with autism spectrum and other related neurodevelopmental disorders. This position will oversee a clinical team of behavior analysts responsible for client progress, caregiver training, and satisfaction with the services being provided. Additionally, this position will develop systems and tools to ensure the provision of high-quality evidence-based services and provide behavioral consultation services (approximately 15 hours/week). Duties And ResponsibilitiesClinical Systems Development, Implementation, and Quality Assurance
Direct, refine, and advance VIA Centers for Neurodevelopment (VIA)’s behavioral consultation model to remain current with state-of-the art research and evidence-based practices
Collaborate with the Director of Adult Services to develop and implement best practice policies specific to skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs and procedures
Collaborate with the Director of Adult Services to develop systems to review Individual Service Plans (ISPs), functional behavior assessment (FBA) reports, and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) to ensure individual progress and compliance with state regulations
Review BSPs to ensure compliance with state Human Rights regulations and ensure BSPs are submitted for review by the Human Rights Committee as outlined by current regulations
Oversee the data collection systems to ensure a high level of treatment fidelity
Ensure behavior analysts maintain VIA professional standards as noted in VIA’s policy and procedures and employee handbook while providing services
Ensure behavior analysts maintain BACB ethical standards with providing services based on BACB ethics codes
Provide weekly updates on behavior analysts’ caseloads during management meetings with the Director of Adult Services
Assist behavior analysts with the identification of appropriate behavioral assessments based on the individual’s clinical profile
Professional Development and Supervision
Provide staff training on VIA’s clinical policy and procedures as requested and monitor staff adherence to VIA’s clinical policy, procedures, and state regulations
Provide weekly supervision (individual and group) to direct reports (BCBAs and BCaBAs) to ensure individual progress, staff competence, billable hour goals are met and individual satisfaction with services
Identify specific training needs for behavior analysts and encourage opportunities for professional growth
Supervise the development and implementation of behavior plans in compliance with VIA standards and state regulations
Conduct annual performance evaluations of behavior analysts
Collaborate with the Supervisor of Club & Hub to supervise the implementation of RBT supervision by the behavior analysts as outlined by position descriptions in accordance with current BACB standards
Provide BCBA/BCaBA candidates with field experience hours weekly
Provide BCBA/BCaBA supervision weekly & conduct performance checks on a quarterly basis
Behavioral Consultation Services
Administer, conduct, and evaluate the implementation of functional assessments
Develops person-centered behavioral outcomes and activities for home-, center-, and community-based programs and designs behavioral interventions based on functional assessment data
Modifies behavioral interventions as needed in a timely manner and ensures that relevant staff are notified and trained accordingly
Trains parents and/or caregivers on the proper implementation of behavioral interventions, data collection systems, and all necessary monitoring and reporting systems
Consults with other treatment providers and stakeholders as needed
Is responsible for ongoing individual program oversight and reviewing program data regularly
Completes all necessary documentation in a timely and satisfactory manner as requested by the Director of Adult Services
Responds to referrals for service in a timely and appropriate manner
Position Type This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule in order to meet the needs of the clients. It will require travel in and around Charlottesville. Requirements
Master’s in behavior analysis or related discipline
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification and license to practice Behavior Analysis in Virginia required
At least five years’ experience working with individuals with ASD and other developmental disabilities; experience working with adults preferred
At least three years’ experience working in a consultant role in the autism or developmental disability field, including experience with staff and caregiver training
Must be proficient with developing behavior analytic goals, conducting functional assessments, and designing ABA behavior reduction and skill acquisition procedures
Must have excellent writing and ommunication skills, be highly organized with the ability to multi-task
