Income Maintenance Supervisor II - Food and Nutrition

Description of Work:

The primary purpose of the Income Maintenance Supervisor II is the administration and supervision of the Food and Nutrition Team. This position directly supervises one Income Maintenance caseworker III-lead worker, nine Income Maintenance II case workers, and one Processing Assistant IV. This position monitors for continued compliance with program specifications. This position assigns and coordinates the workflow both within the unit and other units within the department.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

Must possess considerable knowledge of the policies and procedures of the programs and Department. Must be able to instruct, direct, and supervise staff. Must maintain a satisfactory working relationship with applicants/recipients, and others contacted within the course of work. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with applicants and community agencies to obtain pertinent data and to interpret rules and regulations. Must be able to represent the Food and Nutrition Team in department meetings and present information orally and in written form. Must be proficient in computer usage, have ability to meet the public in a courteous, professional manner. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Ability to supervise, review casework and train staff.

Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:

Three years of experience as a Caseworker or Investigator in an Income Maintenance Program, prefer with one year of supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience
